Signing of ACFTA 3.0 Upgrade


His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah welcomed more exchanges to foster mutual trust, respect, and understanding among the people, and further welcomed the 2026 ASEAN-China Year to mark the Fifth Anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. His Majesty made the titah while attending the 28th ASEAN-China Summit held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Before attending the summit, His Majesty attended the Signing Ceremony of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area 3.0 Upgrade. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen.

At the ASEAN-New Zealand Commemorative Summit, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah, expressed pleasure in commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the ASEAN – New Zealand Dialogue Partnership, which has led to the establishment of the ASEAN – New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Australia is a key player in the region through its steadfast support for the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific and ASEAN Centrality, which is reinforced through the “Joint Leaders' Statement on Conflict Prevention, Crisis Management and the ASEAN-led Regional Architecture".

15th ASEAN-United Nations Summit


His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended the 15th ASEAN-United Nations Summit, 27th October night. His Majesty, in a titah, reflected the U.N.'s centrality in humanity's progress for eight decades, reducing extreme poverty and hunger, and advancing public health and global cooperation. As the world faces complex and interconnected challenges, ASEAN efforts must complement the agenda set by the U.N., including addressing the global threat of climate change. His Majesty encouraged the U.N. and the ASEAN Centre for Climate Change to work closer to advance ASEAN's climate ambitions and achieve a sustainable and resilient future for all.

Gala Dinner


His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended a Gala Dinner, 27th October night, in honour of the Heads of State and Government of ASEAN, Leaders of Dialogue Partners, Guests of the Chair, and the Secretary General of the United Nations attending the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. The dinner was hosted by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chairman of ASEAN, and spouse, Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
