Message in conjunction with the World Blood Donor DayBrunei Darussalam has reached a blood donation rate of 2.9 percent in 2024, continuing a consistent trend of achievement since 2014. This meets the level recommended by the World Health Organization, WHO to adequately support the country's needs, particularly in emergency situations. The matter was stated by the Minister of Health in a message in conjunction with World Blood Donor Day celebrated every 14th of June as a global initiative to raise public awareness on the need for safe and sustainable blood and blood products. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar also said, to ensure this achievement is sustained, the Blood Donation Centre will continue its proactive approach in encouraging and facilitating voluntary blood donation campaigns across the country. In addition, the Blood Donation Centre at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, along with blood banks in hospitals nationwide, remains committed to providing a safe and sufficient supply of blood and blood products, supporting the overall effectiveness of the national healthcare system.
